Dear Pelican Marsh Golf Club Members,
I am extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Marvin Messenger as our new Executive Chef, effective September 21, 2009.
Marvin brings to our club an outstanding record of success and achievement as an Executive Chef. For the past six (6) years, he has been Executive Chef at West Bay Club. Prior to joining West Bay, he was Executive Chef for nine (9) years at Collier's Reserve Country Club.
During his time at both West Bay Club and Collier's Reserve, Chef Marv has proven himself to be a creative, cost-conscious leader who understands the importance of balancing the selection and price points with club menus. He enjoys being visible to the membership, so do not be surprised to see him at your table discussing your favorite foods for future menu items.
Chef Marv has been recognized for his work as both a manager and chef by the prestigious American Culinary Federation. In 2006, he was voted "Culinarian of the Year" by the Southwest Florida Chapter, to be followed in 2007 by the even more prestigious "Chef of the Year" Award.
Please join me in welcoming Marvin, his wife, Julie, and their 15-year old daughter, Becca, to the Pelican Marsh community.
