Ron Parris joined the team at Pelican Marsh Golf Club (PMGC) in 2013, bringing more than 23 years’ experience to the position of GM/COO. Prior to Pelican Marsh, he was General Manager at The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes, a private club in Longwood, Florida. Ron earned his MBA from University of Central Florida following graduation from University of Florida (UF) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. An active member of the PGA and the Club Managers Association (CMAA), Ron lives in Naples with his wife and daughter.
As Controller of Pelican Marsh Golf Club since 2006, Karen Gross was an integral part of the transition of ownership from the developer to the membership. A member of the local Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals Association (HFTP) since 2007, she has held many key HFTP positions, including Vice President. A resident of Naples since 2002, Karen was born in New York City and raised in Costa Rica. A Notary Public, she is also fluent in Spanish.
Shea grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida and graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Prior to joining Pelican Marsh Golf Club as the Director of Membership & Communications, she worked in Brand Management & Marketing at Chico’s FAS Inc, and Retail Management at Kate Spade New York and Lilly Pulitzer. Shea resides in Naples with her husband and three daughters.
Liza grew up in Naples and has worked in the accounting field for over 17 years. Outside of work, she enjoys running, watching sports and spending time with family and friends.
Food & Beverage
Director of Restaurant Operations at Pelican Marsh, Chef Marv Messenger brought his award-winning culinary talents to the PMGC team as Executive Chef in 2007. The recipient of Chef of the Year from the Naples-Marco Island chapter of the American Culinary Federation where he stands as a member of the Legacy Board, he has received numerous other ACF awards, including Culinarian of the Year, Member of the Year, and Board Member of the Year. A native of Minnesota where he received his early training, Chef Marv has lived in Naples for more than 30 years and held top chef’s positions at some of the area’s top clubs.
Chef De Cuisine Chad Cruciotti has made service, quality, and commitment-to-members his top priority at Pelican Marsh Golf Club. A true lover of the culinary arts, this Savannah, GA, native has studied with some of the world’s finest chefs, including Italy’s Chef Simone Concas and our own Chef Messenger. Prior to coming to PMGC, he led world-class teams at two 5-star European hotels; worked under the president of the Portuguese culinary association; and helped open one of Lisbon, Portugal's most successful restaurants – Sea-me.
Amy has been in the Food and Beverage industry for over twenty-three years and over fifteen years in the Club business. Amy spent the last eight years at Shadow Wood Country Club in Estero holding several management roles including the Assistant Food and Beverage Director position for the past three years. She has been in Southwest Florida for over thirty years, originally from Eaton Rapids, Michigan and currently lives in Fort Myers with her husband. They have four daughters and enjoy golf in their free time.
Phil Pellerito has been with Pelican Marsh Golf Club since 2009, where he has been on a fast paced career track. He began as Assistant Golf Professional and was promoted to Head Golf Professionals in 2013, and awarded the Director of Golf position in 2014. Phil is originally from Lighthouse Point, Florida and graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management with a Minor in Business. Before coming to PMGC, Phil enhanced his studies by enrolling in the MBA Program at Florida Atlantic University (2008-2009) and plans to complete the program in the near future. A PGA Member since 2013, Phil currently resides in Naples with his wife and their daughter and son.
Nick Baumhart has been with Pelican Marsh Golf Club since 2009. He began as an Assistant Golf Professional and was promoted to Head Golf Professional in 2013. Nick is originally from Parkland, Florida and graduated from Lynn University (a.k.a University of Boca Raton) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and a Minor in Sports and Recreation. He played 3 years for the L.U. Golf Team. Nick became a Class A PGA Professional August 2013. He plans to one day become a Master PGA Professional. Nick and his wife are enjoying their time in Naples with their son.
From Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Lindsey attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. She was an active member of the golf team while earning her degree in Business Administration and a minor in Communications within the PGA Golf Management program.
Upon graduating in May of 2015, Lindsey accepted her first seasonal job at Wilderness Country Club in Naples, Florida for the winter season. She then traveled to Blowing Rock Country Club in North Carolina for the summer season where she gained most of her teaching experience and became very involved in the ladies’ golf programs.
Lindsey has been a PGA member since fall of 2015, and has been playing golf most of her life. She initially learned to play golf alongside her two sisters under the instruction of her dad. Lindsey and her sisters still play golf together regularly and live in the North Naples area.
A native of Exeter, New Hampshire, Brandon attended Plymouth State University and graduated in 2013 with a BS in Marketing. Upon graduating, he pursued a career with a hotel management company known as Ocean Properties. Quickly realizing his true passion was for the golf industry, he began working at numerous golf clubs in New Hampshire.
Tired of the cold winters up north, he relocated to sunny Southwest Florida in October of 2015. He began working as a seasonal assistant at the Country Club of Naples at what was intended to be just for the winter season. Shortly after, his love for Florida led him to make a full time move. His most recent position was an Assistant Golf Professional at Bay Colony Golf Club. Brandon currently resides in Bonita Springs with his wife, Amy.
Golf Course Maintenance
Since joining Pelican Marsh in 2009, Brook has helped ensure that Pelican Marsh remains a “must play” in SW Florida. Originally from Australia, he has dedicated his professional career to course perfection. A former Director of Course Operations and Course Superintendent at multiple East Coast Florida clubs – Bear Lakes, Aberdeen, Addison Reserve, and TPC Eagle Trace – Brook earned an Associate’s Degree in Turf grass Management and Soil Science, from the Brisbane Institute of Technology, Grovely, Queensland. He also completed an apprenticeship at the Royal Pines Resort, Queensland, and participated in the Ohio State University Turf grass Management Program.
Ben joined the Pelican Marsh Golf Club team in 2016 as the second Assistant Superintendent. Ben is a 2014 graduate of the Turfgrass Management program from The Ohio State University. He began his career in Ohio working at Yankee Run Golf Course and Youngstown Country Club, after which he relocated to Bonita Springs in 2014 to work at Shadow Wood Country Club, before coming to Naples.
Easton joined the Pelican Marsh Golf Club team in 2019 as the second Assistant golf course Superintendent. Easton is a 2019 graduate of the Horry-Georgetown technical college where he obtained an Associates degree in Turfgrass Management. A Tennessee native who moved to Florida in 2008 with his parents began his golf industry career in 2012 at Harder Hall Country in Sebring, Florida. Before joining Pelican Marsh, Easton completed several internships at such clubs as, Quail Hollow Club, Chevy Chase Club and Mountain Lake Golf Club.
Carlos is a native of Chicago, with a diverse background and skill set that integrated him perfectly into a Facilities Engineer position which he has held at several prestigious private Clubs in Naples since relocating here full time with his family.
